Interactive employee training
Development of an interactive guided tour for employee training.
We implemented a front-end application for an interactive guided tour for the usage of software.
Our task
Deutsche Post had updated their internal software. The goal was then to inform their staff quickly, effectively, and in a simple way about the changes and new features. The guided tour had to take no longer than 15 minutes to complete. We were responsible for the concept, design and text. The implementation was performed in cooperation with www.interactive-displays.de.
Our solution
In the first chapter of the guided tour, the user learns the main interaction features. In the second part, the major elements of the software are simulated so that the user can practice. Main aspects of the concept include:
- The guided tour needs to transfer basic know-how compactly and concisely.
- The guided tour needs to function without the use of a mouse by only using the keyboard (same as the real software).
- We had to show the software, and at the same point of time it had to be clearly visible that it is not the real application.
- We mimicked the software and even included the monitor in our design.
- Red highlights listed the most important features to keep in mind.
The result
We were able to support the employees with a smooth adoption of the new software by providing a very visual and down to the point guided tour.
